At Regal Stitch, we recommend 3 to 5 fittings: the initial measurement session, a basted fitting in loosely stitched cloth, a forward fitting where the waist, shoulders and balance are refined, and a final handover. Each fitting is a conversation, not a correction — the suit is evolved, not repaired.

A standard commission takes 6 to 10 weeks from your first measurement to the final handover. Trunk-show and overseas orders may take slightly longer due to the travel schedule. We are candid with timelines at the outset and keep you informed at every stage, so there are never surprises.

A private, one-on-one session with a master tailor lasting roughly 60 to 90 minutes. We record 30+ measurements, study your posture, shoulder slope and stance, discuss your lifestyle and wardrobe, and walk you through cloth, construction and styling options. Your digital pattern is stored for every future commission.

Pricing depends on the fabric choice and construction method. A full-bespoke suit with premium Italian cloth starts at a higher investment level than fused alternatives, reflecting the 50+ hours of master craftsmanship, the hand-cut pattern and the floating canvas that will never be reproduced by machine.

Consider the cost per wear. A well-made bespoke suit is built to last 10 to 20 years and is cut to your exact body, which means it fits better, wears longer and can be adjusted as your body changes. Most clients find one bespoke suit outlasts and outperforms several off-the-rack alternatives.

Yes. We offer staged payments aligned to the milestones of your commission: a deposit to secure the order, a payment at the basted fitting, and the balance on handover. Trunk-show clients may also split the investment across scheduled payments. We will always confirm the structure before work begins.

Two factors: the mill and weave of the cloth (Super 150s wools, cashmere and silk blends command a premium) and the tier of construction (half-canvas versus full floating canvas). We are transparent with a written quotation before any cloth is cut, and every line is explained.

We recommend high-twist wools such as Fresco, or wool-silk-linen blends. Their open weave allows air to circulate and keeps you composed in the heat, while still holding a razor-sharp crease through the ceremony and the evening. Your tailor will tailor the choice to your venue and season.

The number refers to the fineness of the fibre. Super 180s is silkier, softer and drapes beautifully, but it is more delicate and better suited to special occasions. Super 120s is still exceptionally fine while offering noticeably greater resilience for daily wear. We advise based on how often and how hard the suit will work.

Yes, and we are always happy to review it. We will advise honestly on its quality, weave and suitability for your chosen construction, and confirm how it should be prepared. For most commissions our clients select from our direct relationships with the world’s finest mills, which also guarantees the cloth is right for the garment.

We source exclusively from the world’s finest mills, including Vitale Barberis Canonico, Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry and a curated roster of English and Italian weavers. Over 500 cloths are available — from Super 120s travel wools to silk-cashmere blends — across every weight and season.

A high-quality bespoke suit from Regal Stitch, when cared for properly with wooden hangers and regular brushing, can last 10 to 20 years or more. Because the garment is cut to your body and built with a floating canvas, it can also be let out or adjusted gracefully as your shape changes.

Always use a contoured wooden hanger — never wire. Allow the suit to rest for at least 24 hours between wears so the natural fibres can recover, and store it in a breathable garment bag, not plastic. Air it overnight after wearing, and brush it gently with a natural-bristle clothes brush.

Far less often than most people think. Dry cleaning strips the natural oils that give wool its drape, so clean sparingly — generally once or twice a season at most. Between cleans, spot-clean spills immediately, brush the cloth, and let it air. For creases, prefer traditional steam pressing over heavy machine pressing.

Absolutely. Part of the bespoke experience is total creative control. We offer thousands of silk and Bemberg linings, along with horn, mother-of-pearl and corozo buttons — plus monogramming, hand-picked lapel edges and a signature jigger button on the inside of your choice.

Nearly every line of the garment is yours to direct: lapel width and shape, shoulder construction, pocket style and placement, vent configuration, cuff options, trouser rise and break, jacket length, and the cloth of the trimmings.
