The Standard Bespoke Timeline at Regal Stitch

Week 1: Consultation & Measurements
Your journey begins with a private consultation at our Bangkok atelier. This 60–90 minute session includes:
- Style discussion — We explore your needs: business, wedding, formal, or casual. We discuss lapel styles, button configurations, pocket types, and overall silhouette.
- Fabric selection — Browse 500+ fabrics from VBC, Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, and Dormeuil. We’ll guide you based on climate, occasion, and personal style.
- 30+ body measurements — Our master tailors take precise measurements of your chest, shoulders, waist, seat, sleeves, inseam, and 25+ additional points.
- Posture assessment — We note your natural stance, shoulder slope, and any asymmetries that affect the fit.
After your consultation, your measurements are recorded and a custom paper pattern is drafted — one that exists only for you.
Week 2: Pattern Drafting & Fabric Cutting
Your master tailor drafts a unique paper pattern based on your 30+ measurements. This is the foundation of your suit — no standard template is used. Once the pattern is approved, the fabric is hand-cut using sharp shears, following the grain of the wool precisely.
Week 3: First Assembly & Basted Fitting
The cut pieces are temporarily stitched together with loose basting threads — creating a rough version of the suit for your first try-on. This basted fitting is crucial: it allows us to see how the fabric drapes on YOUR body and make adjustments before final construction begins.
During this fitting, we check:
- Chest and shoulder alignment
- Waist suppression and suppression balance
- Sleeve pitch and length
- Trouser rise, break, and taper
- Lapel roll and notch position
Week 4: Canvas Construction & Refinement
After the basted fitting, the suit is disassembled and rebuilt with its floating canvas interlining. The horsehair canvas is hand-shaped to match your chest curvature — this is what gives a bespoke suit its characteristic roll and drape. The canvas is then pad-stitched to the lapels by hand, creating the natural lapel roll that faked suits can never replicate.
Week 5: Second Fitting & Details
Your suit returns for a second fitting, now with its canvas and lining in place. This is where the magic happens: the shape comes alive, the lapels roll naturally, and the fit approaches perfection. We make final adjustments to:

Week 6: Hand Finishing & Final Fitting

However, we never compromise on quality — the same number of fittings, the same construction methods, just a tighter schedule.

What if I’m only in Bangkok for a short visit?
We recommend booking your consultation as early as possible. If you have at least 2 weeks in Bangkok, we can complete a bespoke suit with our express service. If you have less time, we can take measurements and ship the finished suit to your address worldwide.
Do I need to be present for all fittings?
For the best results, yes. Each fitting builds on the previous one, and your presence allows the tailor to make real-time adjustments. However, for international clients, we can complete the suit based on initial measurements and ship it to you with a detailed fitting guide.
